The Virtue Project is a complementary program implemented by Brilliant Stars Early Learning centre, it is the basis to the service philosophy and will underpin our educational program and practice.
This project was honoured as a model of a global program for families of all cultures by the United Nations Secretariat during the International Year of the Family (Popov, 2000). It is based on the simple wisdom of the world’s diverse cultures about living by the best within us, courage, honour, justice, kindness, etc.

Educators and Teachers at Brilliant Stars ELC believe that virtues are the content of our character. Our role is to awaken the virtues within each child, and this may be evident by;
- Educators and Teacher’s using key vocabulary in conversation with children and families.
- Intentional group discussions to support children in identifying and understanding key virtues.
- Key rituals within our day that support children to demonstrate their learning, this can be through artwork, problem solving through play, Virtue sharing circles.
- Collaboration with families to embed learning on virtues at home.
- Intentional curriculum focus on individual Virtues, on an ongoing basis.
Brilliant Stars ELC will take a holistic approach to this project, in order to support children with their social, emotional, cognitive and physical wellbeing.
As children learn within the context of what they experience in daily
interactions, cultivating virtues is integrated into the existing curriculum based on the Early Years Learning Framework.”
